Spainiversary part 3: Sevilla

Sevilla, the final stop on our Spainiversary tour, was a love story we did not see coming. Arriving curious, we departed completely enchanted.

We walked on top of gigantic wooden mushrooms in the middle of the city, toured the Cathedral's rooftops while relishing in the views and the history, shared a quiet moment (and hidden smiles) with a cloistered nun as we purchased homemade bollitos (buns) through an ancient turntable like it was an undercover mission at the Convento de Santa Ines, got caught in the spell of flamenco dancers at Plaza de España, and weathered a four-country-wide, several hours-long power outage on our shady private terrace.

The loss of power only intensified the giving spirit of the city as people gathered at outdoor cafes - laughing and celebrating being alive. Generosity and kindness were on full display at our small hotel as well. A young couple, scheduled to depart the day of the power outage, were in a panic as they don't carry cash and weren't sure how they would be able to eat. Our innkeeper saved the day when he gave them enough cash to ensure they were able to buy dinner, and then some. Through it all, we felt a tremendous sense of community and are grateful to have submerged ourselves in this enthralling place.

Our hearts are full, our camera rolls overflowing, and we haven't stopped dreaming of our next encounter since boarding the train back to Valencia. Thank you for the magic, Sevilla — until next time. ✨🍄💃🪭🏧🥖
