Seven months in Valencia

We're seven months into our Spanish adventure, and what a ride it’s been. When we arrived in Valencia, we were wide-eyed and hopeful, convinced we were ready for whatever life might throw our way. Yet despite months (and months) of planning, nothing could have truly prepared us.

Still, we keep showing up — stretched, challenged, and changed. And with each step, we discover new strengths, collect outrageous stories, and build a life that looks nothing like the one we left — but everything like the one we hoped for.

Each day has brought its own mix of emotions. We’ve laughed, cried, celebrated, second-guessed, and asked ourselves more than once: What were we thinking?

Along the way, we're learning to sit with uncertainty, to move forward without clear answers, and to find steadiness in community. We’re also finding joy in the simplest moments, from stumbling upon spontaneous celebrations to meeting strangers who have become friends.

For 23 years, we’ve been creating our own path by saying yes to adventure and trusting the leap will lead somewhere worthwhile. We’ve chosen growth over comfort, the unknown over the familiar, and in doing so, we have been transformed in ways we never could have imagined.
