September in Spain

September flew by in a flash, but we still managed to pack in plenty of fun, a few surprises, and even some bureaucratic wins.

We were caught off guard by an unexpected thunderstorm, mesmerized by an outdoor circus performance, challenged (and humbled!) in our new Spanish class—how long has it been since you’ve sat in a classroom?! 🙃—and fascinated by an incredible street art exhibition. We also soaked up beach days, celebrated a dear friend’s milestone birthday, and savored our very first Michelin-star meal. 🌟

We rolled out the welcome mat for a few special visitors seeing Valencia for the first time. First up was Michelle, Rhys’s sorority sister and college friend from The University of Alabama. Together with local friends Tricia and Amanda, we toured the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, checked out a few rooftop bars, introduced her to Agua de Valencia, and spent time relaxing by the sea.

Next, we welcomed Joanna and Mike, friends from Atlanta exploring Spain city by city.

It was such a gift to share this incredible city and our life here with friends near and dear to our hearts. If you’re planning a trip to Spain, we’d love to hear about it and hopefully connect while you’re here.

And of course, the month in Valencia wouldn’t be complete without fireworks and gelato. 🎆🍨

We’re excited for all that’s ahead in October—especially celebrating our one-year anniversary of living abroad. As always, thanks for following along, y’all. 🐘❤️
