Part 3 on the US tour: Road Trip

Part 3 of our road trip adventure was an absolute whirlwind, and we relished every second. Grateful beyond words.

A few highlights:

• Reconnecting with (& bear-hugging) so many loved ones

• Making goofy faces at our newborn great niece & great nephew

• Checking out a museum devoted to the world's most famous canned meat product and Minnesota's answer to jamón - Spam

• Chatting with Superman in his hometown of Metropolis, IL

• Watching fireworks being set off from the parking lot of an Outback Steakhouse

• Getting an international driver's license

• Boating in the Land of 10,000 Lakes

• Riding electric bikes on the Paul Bunyan trail in northern MN

• Hugging a very special tree

• Wandering through the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

• Hitting 250,000 miles on our 2003 Honda Civic

• Sleeping in a camper and feeling the rumble of trains passing at 3:00 a.m. on the farm where Shannon grew up

• Marveling at the vast and varied landscapes, scenery, and people we encountered along the way
