Our hearts are heavy
Like many of y'all, we're heartbroken and appalled by the horrific events taking place around the world, and most recently in Shannon's home state of Minnesota (and many other cities throughout the U.S). We're feeling the weight of it all - sadness, anger, confusion, fatigue. Some days it's hard to know what to say, how to move forward, or where to focus.
With the next breath, we're heartened to see the strength of neighbors stepping up to help neighbors - immigrants and citizens alike - stay safe and stand against injustice.
We don’t have the answers. What we do have is a deep belief in the importance of tending to one another and to ourselves in moments like this. To pause. To listen. To let ourselves feel what’s present without rushing past it.
So we walk. And we smell the fragrant orange trees lining the streets here, finding comfort in a simple moment.
A number of y'all have shared that our reels brighten your days, which we love. 💛 We plan to continue sharing our adventures with hopes they help us stay connected to our humanity, and to each other.
So, that's where we're at, y'all. How's everyone holding up? 🫶✌️✊
We're sending all y'all extra love and hugs.
